Description
It is a requirement of health and safety law that employers should provide a safe and healthy environment for their employees. If your assessment of first aid needs identifies the need for emergency first aiders then this Level 3 qualification will provide you with suitably trained and qualified personnel.
All the candidates will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with emergency first aiders that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.
Pre-requisites
• | Candidates must be at least 14 years of age. | |||
• | Note that holders of this qualification cannot claim the official title of "Emergency First Aider in the Workplace" until they reach 16 years old. |
Syllabus
This 1-day first aid course covers:
• | Responsibilities and reporting | Resuscitation and AED Awareness | |||||
• | Assessment of the situation | Anatomy | |||||
• | Dealing with an unresponsive casualty | Minor injuries | |||||
• | Burns | Choking | |||||
• | Epilepsy | Basic hygiene in First Aid | |||||
• | Bleeding control | Shock |
Duration
• | A minimum of 6 hours of practical and theoretical activities |
Assessment and Certification
• | Assessment is ongoing by the trainer throughout the course along with multiple choice questions papers. | |||
• | A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) will be issued to the candidate on successful completion of all the assessment criteria. |
